MEET OUR DOCTOR

Dr. Craig Taylor

Dr. Craig Taylor was raised in Mesa, AZ. He was excited each and every time he lost a tooth and looked forward to the Tooth Fairy visiting. Little did he know that teeth would play a major role in his future. During high school, Dr. Taylor enjoyed river-boarding, racquetball, and watching the movie Strange Brew with his buddies—pretty much anything other than school. After high school, he left for a two-year mission for his church in Spokane, Washington. Upon returning to Arizona, he resumed his education and eventually graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in Health Science. He was then accepted to Temple Dental School in Philadelphia, PA. With his wife and 2-year-old son, they packed up a U-Haul and drove across the country.

Dr. Taylor and his family enjoyed their time living in Philadelphia. Some of their favorite experiences included seeing the historic Liberty Bell, comparing Pat's vs. Geno's famous cheesesteaks (they had to try them all), and, of course, running up the "Rocky steps." During dental school, Dr. Taylor discovered that talking to and making kids smile was how he wanted to spend his career. After dental school, Dr. Taylor was accepted into a two-year pediatric dental residency in Philadelphia. After six years of post-college schooling, he was finally ready to settle down (or so he thought).

He and his family made their way to the great state of Texas. A few years into his budding career, Dr. Taylor attended a continuing education course where he met several dual-trained (Pediatric and Orthodontic) specialists. It was at this moment that he realized how much he missed being in school (haha!). So, he excitedly began searching for orthodontic residencies to attend. His wife, well... she was just a smidge less excited! Once again, Dr. Taylor and his family packed up a U-Haul and moved to Las Vegas, NV for his orthodontic residency. While he was busy studying, his family took in the shows, sights, and made the most of their time. After graduating (again), he and his family were so relieved to finally come back home to Texas!

Dr. Taylor still loves making kids smile, but now, he enjoys improving those smiles even more. On his list of things still to accomplish: 1. Learn to speak Spanish (he's currently on a 436-day streak on Duolingo but still has a lot to learn) and 2. Learn to play the guitar.

MEET OUR TEAM

Martha

Financial Coordinator

I have been a member of the Cedar Park Smiles team since 2009. I handle all the financial aspects of a patient’s profile, including patient and insurance contracts, processing patient and insurance payments, assisting with financial and insurance questions, and working with insurance companies. I also assist with phone calls, scheduling, and general office duties. Each day I come into work, I get to see such beautiful smiles and happy people. It’s one of my favorite things about working here! I truly respect Dr. Taylor’s knowledge and the compassion he has for his patients. He is always available to his patients whenever they need him.

I am happily married with a lovely daughter and a sweet puppy named Bentley. My favorite pastime is spending time with my family.

Merrill

Treatment Coordinator

I joined the Cedar Park Smiles office in 2008. It is my job to sign new patients on for orthodontic treatment. Mostly, I make sure they know how awesome Dr. Taylor is and about the technology he offers, his experience, and how the orthodontic process works. I show new patients around the office, sit in on their exams, and go over their financial options. I also help with front-office duties like answering the phone, scheduling appointments, and taking payments.  Our patients are unique and it is exciting to see them grow and change over the course of their treatment.

I am married to my high-school sweetheart. We have two grown children and a precious granddaughter. I love walking, reading, and spending time with my family.

I started my orthodontic career with Cedar Park Smiles in the summer of 2022. I enjoy assisting Dr. Taylor in creating beautiful and long lasting smiles! My favorite part of my job is interacting with patients and parents and watching my patients grow and become more confident in themselves and their smiles!

I am a proud single mom of a bright, rambunctious little boy and I wouldn't have it any other way! ☺️ I grew up and went to school here in Cedar Park and I am happy to serve my community in the best way possible!

Sam

Registered Dental Assistant / Front Office

I joined Cedar Park Smiles in November of 2023. You will see me hopping back and forth from the front to answer phones and schedule patients, to assisting the doctor with orthodontic procedures in the treatment area. It brings me joy to see the amazing outcomes and confidence orthodontics brings to each patient. I have been assisting for the last 5 years and found my passion for orthodontics in 2021.

I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and son. Together we spend a lot of time together watching my son play soccer and staying busy!
